Principal Designer Amanda on a green sofa, shares 5 interior design trends she feels will redefine luxury in 2026.

5 Interior Design Trends Redefining Luxury in 2026. Key points:

  • Design is shifting away from visual-only, to multi-sensory, immersive spaces.

  • Design that creates authentic, human moments in a synthetic, digital world.

  • Sustainable luxury is the only design standard that matters in 2026.

1. Multi-sensory sanctuary

  • What we’re seeing: Designs that embrace layered lighting and tactile richness to create spaces that you “experience.”

  • Why we’re seeing this: Did you know 90-degree angles are low-key stressful to your brain? Layering textures and light can signal your brain to slow down - something homeowners are looking for in our fast-paced digital world.

  • ASF’s take: We love stacking textures and textiles to bring softness, quirk, and joy to our designs. We create spaces that feel custom, cozy, and quietly elegant - where clients can exhale, completely.

  • How to embrace this trend: Add one, two, or more rugs from Jaipur Living to any space. Lie down on them, close your eyes, feel the love woven into every knot, and let your brain slow down.

2. New nouveau: soft silhouettes and “fat furniture”

  • What we’re seeing: Organic, flowing silhouettes that soften minimalist spaces.

  • Why we’re seeing this: Gen Z and Millennials are gravitating toward furniture with an ASMR quality - comfortable, rounded, and tactile.

  • ASF’s take: Who doesn’t love curves? We partner with local artisans and master craftsmen to source bespoke and custom pieces with curves that are as comfortable as they are sexy.

  • How to embrace this trend: Your feet deserve this ottoman from Jaipur Living. The soft silhouette and corner tassels will add a touch of global style to your home.

3. Statement stone and technicolor marble

  • What we’re seeing: Stone with aggressive, heavy veining and deep saturated colors.

  • Why we’re seeing this: High-net-worth Gen X and Millennials want bold, exotic, “one-of-a-kind” stones and rare marble slabs to create spaces that mass-market brands can’t replicate.

  • ASF’s take: Heck yes! Fearless color is what we do. We love treating a marble wall as natural art - bringing something unexpected, bold, and utterly unforgettable to our clients’ spaces.

4. Textile art and wall galleries

  • What we’re seeing: Wallpaper. It’s no longer just for accent walls.

  • Why we’re seeing this: Custom patterns and whimsical motifs can provide a sense of humor and humanity to a space.

  • ASF’s take: It’s about time! We’ve always disagreed that wallpaper is an afterthought. We love to wrap entire rooms - creating an “art gallery” experience for our clients.

  • How to embrace this trend: Be fearless! Embrace your whimsy. Pick from Day Dreamer Decor’s curated selection of wall coverings

5. Reclaimed luxury: beyond eco-chic

  • What we’re seeing: Sustainable and reclaimed materials being used in custom, contemporary designs.

  • Why we’re seeing this: Gen Z and Millennial consumers will make up 80% of the global luxury market by 2030, and they shop brands that align with their values. For these clients, materials with the “patina of time” are a better “flex” than brand new materials — balancing understated opulence with environmental responsibility.

  • ASF’s take: For us, sustainability isn’t a trend - it’s one of our core pillars. We work with craftsmen and artisans who transform forgotten materials into bespoke pieces - creating unforgettable, one-of-a-kind spaces for our clients.

  • How to embrace this trend: Hand carved from petrified wood, these three little birds from Phillips Collection will have you smiling at the rising sun, saying everything is gonna be alright.

Luxury in 2026 feels less about spectacle and more about experience. Spaces that engage the senses, honor craftsmanship, and reflect real values are the ones that truly last. This shift toward human-centered, sustainable design feels not only refreshing, but necessary!

  • Gen Z and Millennials are gravitating toward furniture with an ASMR quality - comfortable, rounded, and tactile. Who wants to sit on a pretty but uncomfortable sofa? Well there are places in the home where we want something pretty but it doesn't need to be the movie watching location. However, when you want to dive into a good book or scroll on IG, comfort is what it's about.
